These methane-liquid oxygen systems, often termed "methalox," provide multiple benefits. While methane also operates at cryogenic conditions, its storage temperature is milder—closer to that of liquid oxygen, ranging from minus 260°F to minus 297°F (minus 162°C to minus 183°C).
